Tim and The Bottletop Band
At the end of last year we reported Tim had recorded a song for The Bottletop Band charity project, collaborating with other artists. Acoustic EP

Edinburgh Hogmanay
Thanks for all you messages and support for Jon, just wanted to update you all. Jon is set to return to the stage at the band's New Years Eve show in Edinburgh. He has undergone the first series of radiation and chemotherapy and is doing fine. Before returning for more treatment in the New Year Jon is hoping to play the NYE gig. The Charlatans announce temporary drummer
The Charlatans have announced that The Verve’s Pete Salisbury will act as stand in drummer for the UK tour whilst Jon Brookes recovers from his operation.
Brookes, who collapsed on stage in Philadelphia last week, is preparing for his operation this week, back in the UK. It is not known how long he will be out of action but it is thought that Salisbury will complete the October UK tour at least.
The band and Jon want to thank all well wishers for their kind messages of support.
Statement regarding Jon Brookes
The Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes is currently undergoing treatment in the UK for a brain tumour following the postponement of the remaining dates of Charlatans North American tour.
The Charlatans touring schedule remains unaltered whilst the band arrange for a short term replacement.
The band and Jon would like to thank all well wishers for their kind messages of support.

US tour postponed
The Charlatans US tour has been postponed, following the collapse of drummer Jon Brookes during a gig at Philadelphia’s Johnny Brenda’s on Wednesday night.
Brookes is being flown back to the UK for further treatment, although is currently in a comfortable condition, and the band promise to keep everyone informed as and when the situation develops. The Charlatans are very upset at not being able to continue the tour but hope to reschedule the dates as soon as possible.
Chicago show postponed
The Charlatans show at Chicago's Double Door tomorrow (18th Sept) has been POSTPONED due to ill health. Jon is being kept in hospital for further tests, we'll have another update soon. Rescheduled dates for the postponed gigs tba.
Who We Touch released in Australia
Who We Toouch is released today in Australia, the band are scheduled to tour Australia starting in Brisbane on 10th November. Dates here.
Montreal and Toronto shows postponed
The Charlatans gigs in Montreal tonight (16th) and Toronto (17th) have been POSTPONED due to ill health. The band's in-store performance in Toronto tomorrow has also been postponed. Please check the website regularly for updates on the US tour.
Press statement from The Charlatans
The drummer for The Charlatans, Jon Brookes, collapsed on stage last night (15th Sept) during a gig at Philadelphia’s Johnny Brenda’s.
Early into the set Brookes suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. Fortunately there was a doctor in the audience who administered first aid and got the drummer breathing again before the paramedics arrived minutes later. Brookes was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia and during the night was given a CAT scan and has been responding well to treatment. He has now been transferred to a larger hospital in the city for further tests, although his condition is said to be improving and doctors believe there will be no long term effects on his health.
Fans are advised to check the website regarding future gigs.

North America tour The Charlatans are sorry to announce the cancellation of their forthcoming North American tour. This is due to drummer Jon Brookes' longstanding shoulder complaint. He has been strongly advised by doctors against undertaking 23 concerts in 28 days as this could cause severe damage to ligaments in the affected area. He will start a course of treatment starting in September and in the coming months to rectify the condition.
Once again the band wish to apologise to people who have purchased tickets and those that had made travel arrangements We are as disappointed as you are, due to this unavoidable situation.

14th July. The single bundle features new tracks 'Complete Control'
and 'It's What It Is' and will be available from iTunes and

European tour dates The Charlatans will be touring Europe again in September
calling at....
Culture Show Tune in to the Culture Show on BBC2 next Thursday (17th
July) at 11.20pm for footage of The Charlatans busking in Manchester.
The band performed in the city centre today raising money for
charity, sign up to the Forum for
photos & reports of the event.
Live at Indig02 Last month we gave away tickets to see The Charlatans
Live at Indig02. The gig was filmed for ITV2 and will be aired
next week on 5th July at 11.10pm on ITV2, repeated 10th July
at 11pm.
